WW2 and railway models

iv had some great results recently with mixing WW2 tamiya 1/48 scale stuff with GW stuff. Many of you have seen my defence turret and realised the walls and sandbags are from the

TAMIYA Brick Wall, Sand Bag & Barricade Set. 1/48 scale (32508)

and there are other really good kits out there that i have used too.

want barrells but dont want to for out for the "battlefield accessories" sprue?

then try this one. its 1/48 scale so are about the same size but there is a smaller scale set with barrels and pouches that are as the barrel on the vehicle sprue

i have also seen a very good "tank crew" set that has a decent amount of bits and bobs- shell cases, crates and vehicle repair kit- an anvil and tools etc. Enginseer station? and just look how cheap it is.

top tip for this too- the hands of the figures are about right for cadians. i always find i need hands for many of my projects

one other thing i saw on saturday that i cant find info on the net for was a chain link fence for a railway set. it was actually pretty awesome and as soon as santa brings me pennies i will be making some security fence pieces!

also i found this in my local model shop that would be ideal to make industrial looking areas

many younger modelers just slavishly go for GW products but if you mix and match with GW and other kits from other eras you can be creative and original

Re: WW2 and railway models

iv just found this sprue which on the whole isnt that useful but the large radio bottom left might be a nice bit to have.

and for oky players these should be the most exiting thing ever.... plastic bolts! all types!

i just bought this at the weekend and found it quite handy- but only i guess for IG players.

US combat equipment

the large backpacks and pouches and the entrenching tools are pretty good for hardened veterans upgrade and i was also thinging about giving the spades to a remnants squad to act as engineers. no special rules, just look cool.

the bi-pods are awesome for my scratch built snipers (pics to follow soon. be assured tho, they rule)

the tommy guns and m1 carbines are not much use but might be worth dropping in as a clever visual reference here and there.

the cost? £2.99
