Yup, you read correctly. New.
How on earth I missed this one coming i dont know. Now we all know that the original was basically a bodged RPG under the guise of a tabletop wargame, so this time around they've gone and done it, like, for real! Excuse the c&p here but im feeling lazy... "In Rogue Trader, you take on the role of a Rogue Trader and his most trusted counsellors, empowered by an ancient warrant of trade to seek out profit and plunder amongst unexplored regions of space. Your ship will take you to new worlds and uncharted reaches of the void, where you will encounter rivals, pirates, aliens, and possibly even creatures of the warp. You will acquire and spend great wealth and riches, and fame or infamy will follow. You will discover ancient and forgotten mysteries and search out the unknown to find lost human worlds or never before seen celestial phenomena. You must survive the dangers of space, for beyond the threat of vacuum and deadly radiation lurk things Man was never meant to find. To be part of a Rogue Trader’s crew is to stand on the threshold of nearly unlimited opportunity. Vast profits await for you and your fellow Explorers to find and claim. Fame and fortune reward the bold, but the unwary find only an anonymous death. • Fast character creation to get you into the game quickly, including a lifetime of possibilities with an expanded origin path system. • Dynamic rules for all eventualities that let you handle everything from social interaction to deadly fast-paced combat, starships and psychic powers to a system of profit and influence. • Comprehensive background on Rogue Traders, written by Warhammer 40,000 novelist and GW Design Studio member Andy Hoare. • Build your own starship or begin play with one of the six pre-generated vessels. Begin your players’ path to wealth and glory with a complete starting adventure that puts the Explorers right into the middle of the action. The Rogue Trader core rulebook contains everything you need to start your adventure in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Manufacturer: FFG Type: RPG " Mythreal got it here for £33. Wayland Games got it here for £34. Hmm... could be worth a look maybe. Anyone seen/heard anything about it then?

My interest was piqued by this! Thanks. :) Such an amazing background and yet RPGs are generally shunned by the progenitors ...
(I remember on a GW forum many years ago watching the hopes dashed of young uns wanting an RPG in the 40K universe, and before that requests to WD, of course we've had Inquisitor-can Inquisitor be an RPG?- and Dark Heresy since then, but it's "out of house" - all hail the rebels, - when will I get over this problem I have with GW? I mean like RPGs and I like miniatures, I'm lousy at collecting armies only to find that the codexes change with the season, ah but scenarios, small encounters, plenty of variety, plots, character development, nothing against Warhammer et al, just the way GW kept erasing history and killing off product lines after demanding pure devotion ... be quiet bllm, this must be the 4th thread you've started going on about this in, it's okay, I'm sure they understand, we have ebay now, we can re-buy everything...) The art work looks very sexy. :) Did a quick route about, Amazon are selling them for £25! Hurrah for games having ISBN numbers! :) I'm assuming P&P is free. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Warhammer-000-Roleplay-Rogue-Trader/dp/1589946758/ Lords of the Warp Bless FFG! |
