The Hobbit Movie doesn't look too promising ...

Ok I know a few of you are going to tell me you saw them weeks ago, but just came across these pictures of the Dwarfs from the new Hobbit Movie and ... well ... I'm not impressed

^what's with the hair on the one on the left?

 ^ok these 2 are passable

^these are not Dwarfs! Bad! Bad Peter Jackson!

^Silly, Silly, Silly - What the fuck is that around (who I assume to be) Bombur's neck? his hair? his beard?

 ^again, passable but not brilliant

 ^He doesn't even look a bit like a Dwarf!

Over all I've got to say the look far too human and I'm rather disappointed

Thought I'd just post this one with character names for reference.

I agree that they don't look very dwarven at all, not even particularly similar to the dwarves shown in the LotR trilogy.

Yup. Have to admit, even from my limited knowledge of dwarves, these do not fit with what I expected. The third picture looks more like halflings from the size (girth) of them. Ho hum. And the blonde one  in the second photo looks like he's smirking, which just makes me want to punch him.

Anorexic dwarves?

Bit of a let down, I agree.
But the second two look like Gimli. Weren't there two brothers who were descendants of Gimli? (I thought they were Oin and Gloin, but not sure). Been ages since I last read the Hobbit
And yes, even though Fili and Kili were the youngest dwarves, they still had beards, real beards, not that little stubble!

Kili is not a dwarf he is a midget elf or largish hobbit.

Kili is the only one that makes me go "Dwarf, really?" the rest are either very good or passable imho. As someone else said, you need variation of looks to identify different characters in a film with so many.

Just to stick in my 2 pennys worth, I think the majority of them look ok!  you can tell they're not human or hobbit and they look distinctive from each other which will make telling them apart easier during the 2 movies we're getting!
