Yup needs doors.

With stand-up doors, obsessed, he is.
There's a few new 3D cardboard sets which have come out, I think Paper Make iT were going for a 2D alternative.
Like we're often discussing, it's nice to combine the practicality of 2D with bits of scenery ala HQ and Space Hulk.
Foam card mounting seems to be very popular (almost a standard even, I found some for the very first time in a local shop, apparently I've missed out on foam card...). I like the idea that my own sets are sort of "throw-away", but many players seem to take their printed plans very seriously and mount them on all sorts of stuff - along with lamination.
What is nice about this set is that it doesn't rely on square tiles - so I guess it's a bit like the modular stuff we're used to here (AHQ/WHQ/SH etc). I just hope that when I start experimenting with sci-fi plans this guy doesn't think I'm directly copying, but I'm sure we'll find our own twists (see Space Hulk style game thread - insert link...) and hopefully my style will retain a unique quality. But enough about me ... :D
This business about it being available in 1 inch and 20mm suddenly made sense of why those GW Floor Plans (and Dungeon Bowl) are about 20mm in grid width, perhaps to give players the option of different figure scale, the latter being for 15mm. Back in the 80's, 15mm for RPGs seemed to be dying out, with the exception being sci-fi which clung to 15mm (40K aside). At least that was my perception. (apologies if this is a repeated train of thought).
I really think I might buy this.
The artist is running a thread on One Monk / Card-board Warriors forum. Shall I be cheeky and ask for doors? ;)
