Space Ship Miniatures

I randomly came across this site the other day while researching an article and thought that those of you  looking for inspiration for a fleet to use in GSCII might find it worth a look.

http://spaceship.brainiac.com/spaceship1.html

it's an extensive (if some what badly designed) list of a good 95% of all the starship miniatures ever and also includes a few interesting notes on some ranges.

PS: Rob how are your ship design rules coming along?

PPS: any one fancy a game of Spelljammer?

Re: Space Ship Miniatures

after spending about an hour searching on this web page, some of the ships a pretty cool. i most liked the carriers. the supply ships. its a pity you cannot get them over here. they would look great adition to my fleet.

Yeah I've been through that site before. Pretty through list and best of all has pictures for most of the Ground Zero Games Full Thrust line of miniatures unlike the GZG webstore which is really short on pictures.

Its a bit of a tease to list so much nice but out of production stuff though.

Spelljammer?

Oh my...I remember owning the boxed campaign set, way back.

I was not impressed (to put it in kind words) and eventually gave it away...

Re: Space Ship Miniatures

Yea, Spelljammer IMHO is just about the most ill-conceived game TSR ever made.

“Hmm lets try and link our most popular campaign worlds together by making a Jules Verne-esque pseudo-sci-fi naval game loosely based on Ancient Greek theories of astrophysics ...”

Spelljammer is single handedly responsible for some of the weirdest pieces of cover art ever commissioned by TSR (just check out every other issue of Dragon from the late 80's and early 90's)
The whole Spheres thing ruins the atmosphere of any campaign setting it comes into contact with ... oh and lets not forget Giant Space Hamsters!

Re: Space Ship Miniatures

Yea, I think Spell Jammer is best left forgotten and unloved in the bottom drawer of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door that says “beware of the Catoblepas”
