Re: Some new pix

Classic Ratogres (the first rat ogres I think - I'll look into it) and some fun Nurgle troops, my kind of miniature

Re: Some new pix

Yeah, I think they were mentioned in late 2nd Edition but weren't put on the market until 3rd. Edition.

The Warhammer Armies also had stats for Wolf Rats but no minis were ever made, unfortunately.

Re: Some new pix

of course Wolf-Rats are back in the new army book, well kinda - Skaven Warlords have the option to be mounted on a 'Great Pox Rat'. it's a huge bloated Giant Rat that is supposed to fit on a 40mm base - not that there's an official model for that either (so far as I know)

Still I've seen some nicely done Wolf-Rat conversions done using spare Rat Ogre heads and bodies from Plastic Giant Wolves, Chaos Hounds or even LotR Wargs. I also seen a rat from an Inquisitor model being used as a Wolf-Rat. I have plans to do my own some time, since I have a few unused Giant Wolf Bodies and will end up with a few spare heads once I've put my Plastic Rat Ogres together

Re: Some new pix

Well, that's good news!

I might actually be tempted to by an army list or two for this edition then.

Re: Some new pix

yea the new Skaven Army book is worth getting for the extra background material and details of the new Warmachines, even if (like me) your not planning on playing Warhammer 8th

Re: Some new pix

My buddy just bought the box so I'll be checking it out at least.

And some of the minis will be fun to paint.

Re: Some new pix

I wasn't all that keen on the new plastic Skaven that appeared in the new boxed game, but some of them where ok.
(See here for discussions on the new boxed game). I will probably end up making my own conversions to represent new units like the Plauge Wind Mortar, Warp Grinder and Doom Flayer
