Here is my Lictor, which is made entirely from plastic parts
and here are the parts I used to make it ...
1 The slightly smaller set of Scything Talons from the plastic Carnifex
2&3 Rending Claws from the new plastic Genestealers
4 Flesh Hooks from the Tyranid Warrior Sprue (you'll need 2 of these)
5 & 6 Plastic Tyranid Warrior Torso
7 Feeder Tendril head from the new plastic Genestealers
8 What I have been told is a 'horn' from the plastic Carnifex
9 & 10 Plastic Tyranid Warrior Legs
11 'Armour plate' bits from the 'Biomorphs' sprue
12 Plastic Tyranid Warrior tail
Most of these parts I had left over from other projects, others - like the Carnifex parts – I scrounged from other people
and here's how I put it together ...
^
The first thing I did was to bend the tail into a more dynamic position and then after a little trimming I affixed the Carnifex bit to the end to form a tail weapon type thing, adding an armour plate to cover the joint on the other side ^
While the glue was drying on that bit I assembled the Tyranid Warrior torso and then trimmed the shoulder 'armour' to accommodate the Scything Talon arms ^
Next I assembled the Warrior tail and legs as per normal. Note that I'm using a 30mm square base that will fit in the squares on the Space Hulk and Space Crusade boards so I can use it in Space Crusade (rules coming soon!) ^
To make the Warrior body sit in a more up-right and less hunched pose, I cut away one of the 'fins' from the top of the tail and added a small slither of plastic from a sprue to the part were it joins the torso ^
Then I attached the torso to the legs and tail in it's new up-right position ^
To bulk out the Genestealer head a little so that it would be more in proportion to the Warrior body I glued an 'armour plate' to the top ^
and then trimmed down the Warrior's neck and experimented with positioning the head atop the body to get a convincing looking pose
^
When I said this model was all-plastic I lied – a little green stuff was used to fill the gap between the Genestealer head and the 'armour' bit glued on top and bulk out the back of the head further. Messy was around while I was doing this bit so I took advantage of his superior sculpting skills and got him even-up the head and make it look more natural (by the time I took this picture I'd already started to attach the Genestealer arms and the Flesh Hooks) ^
Once the Green stuff had set the next day I glued the Genestealer arms into the lower arm sockets and attacked the Flesh Hooks to the chest. At this stage it was really starting to look like a Lictor! ^
Finally I glued the huge Scything Talons into the upper arm sockets and the assembly of the Lictor was complete ^
The completed all-plastic Lictor – maybe one day soon I'll get around to painting it too
