SOLDAT - My WWII skirmish rules

Hallo everyone,

After a couple of evenings of rather uncharacterful productivity I seem to have nearly writen a set of skirmish rules for 28mm WW2 figures. These rules would probably port quite well to other conflicts, WW1 would be easy to do, and probably modern stuff too if you add rules for body armour.

Anyone interested in having a read once I've got all the basic rules laid out? I'm looking specificly in the direction of Robey and Mark (and any other vets we have on the board) as I'm trying to make the rules have a vaugely realistic feel to them whilst still be playable (hmm isn't that the goal of every WW2 rules writer? sometimes I start to doubt it!).

Rob.

sure man, if you email me the Word.Doc I can PDF it and upload it to the main sight.

I also maybe looking to addapting the rules to work with the 1/72 fantasy stuff we wanted to do

I've still got one of the main phases to write so it might not be done until tomorrow or maybe thursday.

I doubt these rules will be that good for fantasy, not mass combat anyway, especially as close combat is an optional rule! I still have ideas for some fantasy rules but I need to write them out.

++EDIT

Ok I got bored here's a very rough draft of the core rules. Basicly with these plus some stats for a basic rifleman (army lists are going to be comming when I can be assed) you can fight hordes of leaderless riflemen. The Russian army then.

Download is here right click and save as is the best bet. Though its a rather modest 96KB, not bad for a PDF, guess it does have rather a lot of whitespace though.

END OF EDIT TERMINAL SHUTTING DOWN++

Here's a slightly updated version:

Not a lot of changes just a few re-arranged bits and re-worded so there are less things that players could abuse. I've also got most the way through making the master weapon list. A pair of useable armylists will hopefully appear soon.
