Right everyone I've woken up really early and in the mood to get on with actually doing something (shocking news I'm sure). I've decided I have entirely too many rules projects that are unfinished. So quick run down of what I've got started:
Space Combat game- Mostly a re-hash of Thane Morgan's Generic Space Combat rules (by permission), I got a bit bogged down as I decided to change from free-space to hex-based movement. To be honest this rule set seems a bit of a dead duck now as Colonial Battlefleet does pretty much everything I wanted my rules to do.
Micro Armour game- Now this I think has good prospects. I spent ages building up a big database of stats for pretty much every armoured vehicle ever. Then decided it'd be fun to have a micro armour (1/300th scale usually) game in which you could fight literally any period in armoured warfare you wanted to, anywhere from the first tank on tank fight at in 1918 at Second Battle of Villers-Bretonneux through to tank battles of today (or tomorrow). It uses a dice system not to dissimilar to hero quest (comparing successes) to make it fast playing, each tanks attack is resolved as a single roll of dice by each player, no charts no tables just roll the number of dice that unit's stat card says to roll and the results are obvious. Unfortunately its only the core combat mechanics I have written. Still got a long way to go with morale rules, firesupport, terrain types...all that boring stuff.
Soldat- My WW2 skirmish game, at roughly platoon level designed for 28mm or 54mm figures. I wanted something super detailed, something really gritty where you only had a few guys so you really didn't have the luxury of running around like a loon or you'll loose all your men. Plus I find small unit tactics fascinating. Fairly far on but still need work.
Weird War 2- Started a while back but currently lost in action, sort of based on my Soldat rules but not really. Bit pissed off that these have disappeared into nowhere, had some cool ideas in them. Can't even remember the name I was working on them under so I can't find the damn files.
11th Century Combat- Pretty much what it says on the tin, early medieval combat rules, skirmish-ish level.
Thing is I'm not quite sure what to work on...so any preference or comments on what might be good to work on would be appreciated
