Re: Dragon Hunters - Space Wolves/Vikings - For Space Crusade

As long as they are recognisable as SpaceMarines (eg dudes in Power Armour) and you stick to standard Space Crusade Marine Squad formation you'll be able to use them no problems

A standard Marine Squad in our Space Crusade campaign consists of 5 models:

1 Marine Commander
3 Marines with Bolters
1 Marine with Heavy Weapon

It's also useful to have a few extra Bolter Armed marines for re-enforcements events and/or if your Heavy Weapon runs out of ammo and you may want to make several versions of your Heavy Weapon Marine with different Heavy Weapons to give yourself a good choice of Heavy Weapons (Pro Tip: don't take a Heavy Bolter)

Out of the game box I'd suggest using the Blood Angels card set and taking Combat Blades and/or Bolt-pistols to represent the Close Combat advantages of having Axes (plus the Red cards would match your Marine's rouge colour scheme)

Another good choice might be to print yourself off a copy of the  Flesh Tearers Cards as they give you the option to give your Commander a Combat Shield which would fit in nicely with your Viking theme – you can always drop the JPGs of the cards into a picture editing program of your choice and change the name and symbols to your own chapter before printing so they are more your own too

A quick note to bear in mind background wise: Space Crusade is about several Marine Chapters (and some times temporarily allied races) working together in a desperate struggle against a great foe (normally Tyranids or Chaos) – there are a few missions with a monster-hunt type flavour to them, but there is much more to the game so your marines will need to have more at stake than hunting trophies

We don't actually have anything on the rules for Blood Angles on the forum as they came in the original game - however here (for reference purposes) are 2 poor quality images of the Blood Angles card set shamelessly stolen from Board Game Geek's Space Crusade page

First up Equipment Cards

^ for a standard mission you pick 4 Equipment cards, but you may pick more once you're campaign rank increases

Order Cards

^ the number of Order Cards you pick is dependent on the mission being played and your campaign rank

And now a short tangent about the Over-Watch Order Card which will probably make very little sense to you at this stage, but is important (and makes for good reading for other Space Crusade players who might be reading)
Each of the 3 Space Marine Chapters originally in Space Crusade (Blood Angels, Imperial Fists and Ultra Marines) have 4 Order Cards in their card set - however I have added a 5th Order Card - Over Watch to the basic set

Note that this means card sets in our campaign all contain 5 Order Cards - Thus all extra squads I've written since have 5 Order Cards as standard (so far: Angry Marines, Sisters of Battle and Squats) but don't necessarily have OverWatch - I have also made an Over Watch card for the Eldar card set to bring them up to 5 Order Cards in line with the other Squads and Orks too will get a 5 Order Card soon, but it won't be Over Watch

I also believe you left me a message on FB asking about what Heavy Weapons you can have - so here is a list of all the Heavy Weapons available to all Space Marine Chapters in Space Crusade

Heavy Bolter
Auto Cannon*
Missile Launcher
Plasma Gun
Multi Melta
Conversion Beamer*
Las-Cannon

(Heavy Weapons marked with a * are not standard Space Marine Heavy Weapons in the current version of 40k and thus most people don't have models with them)

If you wish to print off your own set of Blood Angels Cards to use, you will find the following PDF very useful, but please read the text below carefully before you go about printing it

SpaceCrusade-Redesign%26Homebrew_v2.pdf

This PDF contains re-formatted 1-sided versions of the Card Sets from the original Space Crusade game (Warning: this means it dosn't have the Over Watch Order Card). The 3 original Chapters are there (Blood Angles, Imperial Fists and Ultra Marines), plus a Set of Alien Event Cards, but it also contains 3 fan-made card-sets for Raven Guard, Salamanders and Grey Knights - Now I can't state this strongly enough: The fan-made rules for these 3 chapters contained in this PDF (Raven Guard, Salamanders and Grey Knights) are unbalanced, broken and in some cases just plain silly. Thus they are NOT ALLOWED in my campaign (sorry).
If you do print this PDF only print the Blood Angles, Imperial Fists and Ultra Marines cards as you will not need the others

You might as well learn by playing with the Blood Angels out of the box tonight - then later on when you've got your marines ready we can seen about them having their own card set

I of course have a clean and blank version of the 1-sided cards I made for the Flesh Tearers to which you could add your own chapter name and symbol and then paste in a copy of the Blood Angels or Flesh Tearers rules. However please do not re-word, re-write, mix and match or alter the rules in any other way - because of the way Space Crusade works each Squat's card set needs to be carefully balanced (the Flesh Tearers rules took several attempts to get right and the Sisters of Battle, Angry Marines and Squats we've been working on still aren't finished after months of work)
