Hooray! I've finally got enough printed cards & pieces assembled to actually play the king of dungeon-crawlers, Warhammer Quest again :D
It's still a bit of a beta version as I'm missing the bats, orc archers and hero models and I have no doorways but hey, it works. I still lack spell cards so no wizard and a few bits & pieces that I have not yet printed. I went with the Barbarian, Elf and Dwarf. We breezed through the first few rooms but then got mobbed by snotlings which surrounded and nearly killed the poor elf (who had just fallen down a pit). When we got to the fighting pit the Barbarian jumped in to challenge the minotaur (who we named Robert) and got he his Nordic ass handed to him on a very bloody plate - FAIL!!! The Elf & Dwarf had a go at avenging him and both died. So "Robert" is still in that pit waiting for a rematch... Can't wait to have another go and get revenge (or perhaps another severe minotaur-style beating).

I think I can help here Firstly [wizard voice] behold! a Zip File containing JPGs of the Warhammer Quest Spells! Warhammer_Quest_-_Spell_Cards.zip Now lets see what I can about finding you some replacements for those missing miniatures As I have banged on about in This Thread Here, EM4 Miniatures produce a line of plastic Fantasy Warriors miniatures for the low-low price of 21p each or an incredible £7.70 for a bag of 50 and one of them happens to be a perfectly serviceable Orc archer You can't have a dungeon craw without Heroes! EM4 can also provide you with several awesome Barbarians from their metal Fantasy Warriors range Find these and many more Here and they have Elves too ... Wood_Elves But personally when I'm looking for miniatures to use as Player Characters my first (and often last) stop is ... Ral Partha Europe who have range after range of awesome fantasy miniatures many of which are designed for use as characters in RPGs. There's too many to list here, so I'm going randomly pic out a few I think would be good for WHQ and encourage you to have good look round the site yourself White Wizard Thor Grimm the Dwarf Tyrant with Great Axe Noble Archer (Elf) Replacing the WHQ Doorways is a tricky one - but I suggest checking out Scotia Grendel's awesome ranges of Fantasy/Dungeon terrain which contain a few items you might find useful (and many other you'll want just for the sheer hell of it!) ^ 10003 - Portcullis £7.00 (Warning: 1 sided piece) great as entrance or exit ^ 10018 - Standing Stones £9.00, I think these would work quite nicely as WHQ doorways ^ 10064 - Large Gateway £7.00, (I think 1 sided but don't know for sure) The following are listed under the 'Historical' section on their webstore ^ 10033 - Ruined Gothic Archway £7.00 ^ 10077 Double doors set (4) £6.00, almost certainly your best bet for replacing the WHQ doors ^ 10082 Single doors £7.50, like the ones above but smaller Bats ... I'll need some time to think about where to find some nice Giant Bat models, but I'm sure there are some out there!

Bat Swarm from Black Tree Designs - 5 metal bats, all you need to do is mount them on individual bases

Excellent, thanks dude! I've already got some of those plastic archers so I'm just using them for the time being (although I would like to get some of the old WH ones just to help the authenticity of the game along).
I like that set of doorways. They may be my best bet for that. GW used to do stuff like this but they obviously don't give a damn anymore In fact if I tried to take this to play at their WH World venue they'd probably try to stop me playing!

Well WHQ is going well. I have got a gaming buddy so its more fun now. We've got the Wizard working and had three games as a team (2 heroes each).
Game 1 - We got locked in a dead-end room by the portcullis WITH an angry Minotaur. We all died LOL Game 2 - We breezed through with amazing luck, disposed of the pathetic handful of Skaven guards, kileld the engineer and saved the Dwarf city from being flooded with lava. Hooray :D Game 3 - We were absolutely MOBBED by goblins & spiders and we fumbled nearly every roll. The Wizard had a bunch of high-cost spells that he could hardly ever cast and when he did the roll usually affected one monster only - EPIC FAIL!!! We did manage to reach the escape room and the Elf alone escaped with his life. The rest of us were very much Minotaur fodder... Updates for future games coming soon hopefully. Anyone still playing this game and care to share their adventures? :)
