Allow me to introduce myself...
I'm a man of poverty and lack of taste. Been collecting minis since 1983 when I bought an old Tom Meyer's Fire Dragon (today serving in my buddy's Empire Army) although I didn't start playing until 1987 when I discovered WHFB and Realms of Chaos. Since those days I have remained a steadfast servant of Chaos, despite a few failed attempts of straying from the path of damnation. These days I buy minis only if they seem fun to paint since most other needs are covered. My learning curve in painting has been frustratingly flack and has only in the last 5 years or so shown any signs of actually improving my technique despite having painted for over 2 decades. What more is to say? I was born in 1970. I like junk food too much for my own good. I'm usually unemployed or only hold short part time jobs although I am partly trained to be a teacher. |
As some of you might have noticed I have been absent for quite some time.
This is because I had a blood clot in a vein in my liver which hospitalized me. And directly upon that it turned out that parts of my small intestine had been deprived of oxygenated blood from the previously mentioned blood clot, causing a piece of my guts to die, and then surgically removed, hospitalizing me for even longer. The day before I was supposed to be released from the hospital following the surgery the suture ruptured and I had to be stitched up again. Khorne and Nurgle apparently had ganged up on me. After a month in hospital I come home to find that my computer decides it's a good idea to crash as soon as I turned it on. Damn you, Zuvassin! Eventually I got that problem fixed and then I realized that I must have misplaced my Mordheim warband, months and months ago, most likely on the train, thus ensuring it is likely lost for ever. So all in all it's been a generally crap time for me. My dad's deteriorating mental and physical health did little to make me happier. On the few good notes that there are, however, is that I've got my hands on some new neat minis from Reaper's "Bones"-range. Pictures will hopefully be forthcoming soon. Also, some older minis got painted after the year-long painting hiatus. Also, getting a driver's license is about to become a reality after a 25 year delay. |

Holy crap lad, glad to even hear from you after all of that!
Horrible shame about the minis, but maybe they were just hidden someone inconvenient while you were away one day! I do suggest some paint-therapy to help yourself recover, with plenty of photo-therapy for us ;) Glad to hear you're still kicking.
Mankinds first mistake; Questioning why those around him, are dying.

Yes, there's still a faint hope that the box with my warband is just lurking somewhere in the mess that is my apartment.
:) As for painting, me and some friends are getting together tomorrow to paint some minis and with some luck I'll be painting even more come Friday. Photos will be provided if available, of course. |

Good to hear from you again dude - it sounds like we're lucky to have you back.
I hope you have as speedily recovery as can be expected, great to see you posting here again Seeing your intro post reminded me that talking to you about miniatures over Deviant Art and MSN back all those years ago was one of the many things that inspired me to create the forum, I like to think the website has progressed greatly since then and we've all been a part of it

~The ravings of a single mad Goblin is bad enough, but such a power-hungry, malice-filled creature as Mortis can never hope to be understood~ |
Yeah, we've come a long way since those innocent days.
:) With some luck I'll upload a new picture or two during the weekend, by the way. |
Turns out my box of Mordheim minis were not lost after all!
Oh joy! I had placed them next to the chest of drawers in my hall where I normally never ever place anything, much less look for stuff. And I got me a second job = more money to buy minis. And I'm almost done getting my driver's license. Things are going suspiciously well and I keep waiting for disaster to strike... |
Status report:
Still alive. Moved to new place. Soon more-or-less unemployed again. Miniature painting to follow, along with pix. Bad for economy, good for creativity. Also, been to UK and brought home about 30lbs of sci-fi and fantasy literature and visited Orc's Nest. |
