Playing MortiS Quest at Triple Helix?

+Mortis when are you likely to bring some Mortis quest dungeons down to THW's  I have a Dwarf cleric painted up for it.
 will post it on soon
The dungeon games a quite a vast undertaking and require around 5 hours to play (not including character creation and setup time), so you'll need a whole day free, also there might be some issues setting up the 3D dungeon on THW's table surfaces.

but having said that I'll see what we can do in the near future when a bunch of us have a day free at the same time, your dad (being a old D&D player I think you mentioned) might want to join us too

Awesome stuff. I hear what you say about the table surfaces and time trouble with a dungeon setup. How do you create a character for Mortis Quest (Please post it or my head will explode from all the wondering)!? Possibly in holiday time (Thursday/Tuesday late night gaming) would be a good idea for an all day TLATD dungeon game. After asking my dad I'll have to convince him aparently!!!!!

sounds good, I'll see what we can get organized.

if you download and print a MortiS QuesT character sheet (which I see you've already found) I'll talk you though how to fill it out when I've seen your Hero miniature

BTW 'Dwarf Cleric' is not currently a class in Quest but I see no reason you can't field your Hero as a Dwarf Warrior in the mean time

As long as theres a chance of some house rules for him ( and he gets to create a great fire dragon with his pipe) I'm fine.

Ps don' worry about the 3d dungeon i have a quiker alternate setup: two laminated inch squared pieces of A3

From what I've managed to see of your Dwarf character (please upload the photos again using the re-size options so we can see him properly) he'll be quite a formidable adventurer with out any special rules needed, he will roughly stat-up something like this:

A Dwarf's Movement is 1D12 and he takes no penalties for heavy armour
The large 2 handed hammer gives him 4WCD + blunt damage in Close Combat
and the Crossbow on his back gives him 3WCD + Damage on Special at a Range of 30” (please note that if you were to field him as Cleric he couldn't have the Crossbow as Clerics cannot use ranged weapons)
Since the model is based on a Mantic Dwarf I assume he's wearing Heavy Armour which gives him 4WCD in Defence
The Dwarf Warrior Class starts with 7 body points and 3 Mind points and gets to roll WCD rather than RCD when Resisting Magic
Dwarf Warriors can search for (but not disable) Traps
and get a Perception Bonus when searching for Secret Doors

ah so you have a kinda home made battlemat for use with dry erase pens?
Check out: http://the-lost-and-the-damned.664610.n2.nabble.com/Battle-grid-Picture-frame-in-plexiglass-td5059164.html#a5059164 if you haven't already

I wasn't really planning on bringing the 3D dungeon anyway as sliding the plates together would tare up the table surfaces at THW (putting cloth down would protect the table but not be any good for the floor plates as they need to rest on a smooth hard surface). I've got a cardboard dungeon from several copies of Advanced HeroQuest I was thinking of bringing and we've also got a copy of Billiam Babble's dungeon floorplans we could use

Pretty much yea, it has the same effect in that Dwarfs are more likely to notice inconsistencies in stonework and changes in architecture

Leather Armour gives you 2WCD + 1RCD in Defense

I've had it for ages and always found it to complicated but now i love it ( damn i sound like a tv advert). In Mortis quest do clerics get turn undead like in d&D.

I've been playing Fight Fantasy books since the first time round in the 80's and 90's it's nice to see they've reprinted some of the old books and written some new ones like 'Blood Bones' 'Eye of the Dragon' and 'StormSlayer'
any way I'm drifting off topic here, this is really as discussion for the FF section ...

no, but their Holy Weapon ability causes extra damage to Undead with more than 1 Body Point and all Daemons.
The basic Cleric Class is used to represent a Warrior Priest of Sigma, Ulric, Shallya, Myrmida or some one more obscure like Gaad. They Heal the wounded, Revive the unconscious and beat the enemies of the Empire to a bloody pulp with blunt weapons!

I do have plans however to add a Cleric of Morr sub-class (Suggested by Talsin) that is less healing and helping orientated and would have powers similar to Turn Undead specifically for dealing with Undead creatures along with other death-related powers.

other Sub-Classes of Clerics may appear later, as you know the MortiS QuesT rules are an ongoing project

As I said at the moment we don't have rules for a Dwarf Cleric, your miniature however would work perfectly well as a Dwarf Warrior (especially since he's got a Crossbow). There's no reason you can't still have him be a devoted follower of Valaya or Grugni though.
He won't have the Cleric Powers, but Garek will still be a powerful Hero and he can still devote his life to the Dwarven Gods

If it's destroying the undead your thinking about remember that blunt weapons (such as Garek's 2-handed Warhammer) negate the Damage resistance of all Skeletons, Bone Constructs and other similar creatures
