Nice paint job mate, have to admit youve come a long way with your painting from when I first met you, I love the rust effect, how did you do it? Also is that the back of a tank search light I see on the back or was that already on there? Keep up the good work mate, hope to see more oork conversions from you, they are always a delight.
Hail to the VI legion, For the Allfather! For Fenris and Leman Russ!!!
This entire thing has been throw together from bits.
The engine at the back is indeed the back of a searchlight :3
This is actually a regression on recent paint jobs, sadly. I've not painted much lately and my brushes are fucking up, so I couldn't get the detail I wanted. D:
For rust I used a failed selection of colours for a while. It eventually went right. Sadly, there's not much to explain.
But i know that I usually stipple/ sponge/ violently attack the metal parts down with the following colours;
Bestial Brown
Blazing Orange
Vomit Brown
Leprous Brown
And sometimes then do a harsh drybrush of boltgun to bring some of the metal back out at the edges.
Half of those browns are probably OOP now, sadly.
But if you get all of the browns between Bestial and blazing orange (Or, you know.. Just mix up bestial and blazing for varying shades) then it'll be easy.
Mankinds first mistake; Questioning why those around him, are dying.
