fighting on the huge flat plains of sand that made up most of Snakefish North, the 349th found airmobility essential. the 609th were seconded very quickly into the AF(R) when it was found not only did they have a core of very skilled pilots and well maintained aircraft, they also had aircraft "TURBO TWO-THREE", a Vendetta class Valkyrie that time and again made a difference to any operation it was assigned to.
these battle honours are not for show... they each reprisent an actual battle. white skulls =battles where its has done well and survived, diamonds =poor baattles but survived, Cadian gates indicate battles where is made a outstanding contribution above and beyond, ace of spades indicate good battles it did not survive.note the port and starboard running lights and rocket pods on 2-1
TURBO TWO ONE is a new aircraft that has been used mostly for security duties so has not been able to gain the awards worn by TURBO TWO-THREE.
the lasers on the Vendetta are from a predator, and look pretty good. obviously it should have two of each but the singles look quite elegant.
im sort of keen to ge another to have the complete "flight" of three, but im not sure i can justify that now they have gone up to £37.50.
hope you like them. i notice on the pics the highlighting on TURBO TWO-THREE is a bit light so i might have a go over that soon. as ever tho i found the canopy cockpit fit to be a bit poor.
obviously these have the standard 349th markings. the wings carry the squadron number along with the aircraft ID. the Hand with Lightening device is the visual logo of the 609th Squadron.
