I am very impressed with the new Russ model, but i managed to drop on two still on the sprue so i made them identical. here is the first...

this tank is part of the 317th Tank Regiment, much of which is seconded into the AF(R). even tho it is the old style Russ i have made a few customisations: the front weapon mount is the new style one, so i can inter change flamers, bolters and las-cannons at will.

the lower turret plate has been left un glued so i can interchange the turret gun for any of the following:

battle cannon, exterminator, eradicator, vanquisher

iv kept it very basic and low key- less is more. iv also tried a very slight change in my technique- the drybrushing also has a low chaos black layer.

The wear and tear is beautiful

you tempt me to strip my old IG tanks and actually put effort in..

Re: PROJECT: Leman Russ, 1 COY, A troop, 2 squadron, 1st Vehicle, 317th Tank Regt.

do it. this is just a drybrush with bronzed flesh followed by a light drybrush of chaos black, then a heavier one of boltgun metal. use a MASSIVE (1") brush and make big, horizontal movments.

i have sucessfully rebooted a couple of tanks from beginner to current standard

Extra-good weathering on these ones!

I just take a make-up brush or a really messy one and dab the end in paint, wipe some off and then stipple over. Browns, greys, and then black tiger stripes for a messy urban camo.

Doesn't match well with my black, grey & blue infantry camo

Very nice! Great weathered paintjob. Love that new style exterminator, those barrels are HUGE.
