Griffon

As a fast moving, mechanised spearhead, the AF(R) relied on mechanised medium artillery like the Basilisk and Griffon. Both were able to keep up with the Chimera based infantry and Armoured elements while still providing a high rate of accurate, destructive fire. the AF(S) (Assault Force Siege) by contrast considers the griffon and Basilisk as "light" Artillery, and prefers either field guns set up on a hard standing or larger, slower vehicle platforms like the Bombard and Collosus. The AF(AM) (air mobile) has none of these vehicles.

after several months of fighting General Biakal made a radical step of disbanding most of the Griffon only batteries, and assigning each Basilisk battery a single Griffon to add its firepower and more importantly its sophisticated aiming auspex to the unit. should the Battery be involvdin a more long range bombardment the Griffon will act as a security vehicle, protecting the others from enemy infiltrators.

Any Griffons "left out" by this reorganisation we then re assigned directly to the Mechanised Infanty Platoons, giving individual commanders on a squad by squad basis access to local, accurate fire.

This vehicle, TEMPLAR, is the fourth vehicle in the second battery, A company, 728th MAR. it carries a fairly standard load of four high explosive rounds, a smoke round and a single chemical agent round. many MANY more rounds will be stored in the Battery support vehicles, and it is not uncommon for the floor space of Griffons in combat to be covered in ammunition crates.

Griffon

interior detail. i like the ammo store, even if it is comically small, as well as the gun rack for the crew

this is my only attempt at freehand. its on both sides and looks ok. dont get used to it, it wont happen again.

not bad for £43. great looking model. was a bit of a cunt to put together but thats half the fun.

Very nice overall. I do like the freehand, adds some extra character. The interior is pretty awesome, I like what you've done with the control panel at the base of the mortar, any chance of a better shot of it?
