PROJECT: Command Platoon Chimera/Hydra

I like the new chimera- it has a lot of detail, less parts (sort of miss the side doors- sometimes you could do interesting things with them) and the tracks go on like a dream. so when i bought one i started thinking maybe i could custom build a hydra out of one but still be able to use it as a Chimera if i wasnt gonna rock the Hydra.

so first,

HQ Coy, 2nd Platoon Motorpool Chimera

as you can see it is pretty standard looking chimera- virtually identical to my other "new" style one.

but like the Disco Volante in james bond all is not what it seems...

HYDRA, 2nd Gun, C Battery

"often the mechanical systems in the weapon mount became clogged with grit, or just got stuck due to metal warpage caused by the hot days and cold nights. to solve this a large sledgehammer was often fitted to the bulkhead to the drivers compartment. a strong hit on the turntable would often free up the gears."

and here is a funny pic that highlights the danger of leaving an unatteneded model at a paint night when your mate is an awesome painter and spots a blue oval on your tank...
