I discovered these guys a year or so back…

I can’t think of a good way to start this post … but I don’t need to, the image above should have sucked you in already.  If you’re anything like me you will recognise it immediately! … and if you don’t recognise it you needs to learn some history Space Marine Boy!

It’s the idol from the original 1st edition AD&D Players Handbook, a truly iconic image of the gaming industry.

Otherworld Miniatures’s ranges are inspired by classic D&D and they make use of some very talented sculptors including Paul Muller, Kev Adams and John Pickford.
So if you like your D&D old style and still high quality this is the company for you.
The man behind it all is Richard Scott who is a devoted collector of the Citadel Licensed AD&D range and this is clearly a big influence on Otherworld’s miniatures, giving them a nostalgic quality although they are clearly modern sculpts. The prices are quite high, but (unlike with some companies I could mention) your paying for quality sculpts people have taken a lot of time and effort to produce

Anyway enough of me talking here’s the link and some pictures of a few of my favourites from the Otherworld ranges

 ^ Fire Beetles

 ^  2 Shriekers and a Violet Fungi

Also take a look at the Type 1 Demon, which would make for an awesome Lord of  Change.

(linked due to it being a huge image)

Fans of the old Citadel AD&D range will of course also want to droll over Richard Scott’s collection http://www.citadel-add-range.org.uk/

Big Cat got me the demon idol for my birthday this year, it's a really great piece and I can't wait to get it painted up and in the dungeon!
I'm sure the party's theifs are look forward to seeing what happens when they try to prize those huge rubies out of the eye sockets!
