Dude I'm sorry, but the quality of these is terrible, the normal sized text in the paragraphs is unreadable

I concur.
They seem to have been a lot closer to regular RPGs than later editions.

yes I own 2nd edition Warhammer and there are all kinds of RPG type rules along side the more recognizable battle rules.
It seems that in the early days Warhammer wasn't really intended to be a pure-wargame for fighting pitched battles between armies of equal points value and competitive gameplay ... of course that all changed with Ravening Hoards
