My wee highlander lass!

Along with the really buff elves, I'Kor make a range of rather Scottish looking warriors. Being Scottish myself it was too tempting not to have one for a character in Mortis Quest. I don't even have to put on the accent!! So now the painting is finished here she is...

Mort keeps nagging me to add some colour to the kilt to make it look more tartan-like but I'm not sure my painting skills are up to it. What does everyone think? Stripes or plain?

Stripes! (I was just gonna say: where's the tartan pattern?)
And paint some sort of family crest on the shield. It looks too clean now ;)

See, other people think so too! go on paint the tartan you're a good enough hobbyist, you just need to take a little time over it!

The red you've already painted the kilt is a good base for the tartan, painting green lines in one direction and then blue lines in the other should give you a convincing tartan like pattern

... and now that Sjeng mentions it the shield does look a little plain

anyway apart from that - excellent miniature with a great paint job to match as always from you

What if you cheated, and used a permanent pen? It'd be much easier because of the lack of bristles and the straightness. Sure, it might feel like cheating, but pff

Very nice again Cat. Permant markers over a dark red wont come out particularly bright but if you want darker stripes I guess that's not really a problem. Reminds me of an article in White Dwarf a long time ago when Paul Sawyer said he used very fine technical pens to do black-lining.

I really like it!

IMO this miniature doesn't need modifications, maybe only a decoration for the base.

+ Other planes lie beyond the reach Of normal sense and common roads But they are no less real Than what we see or touch or feel. +
