Mantic's Forge Fathers in Space Crusade! (Play-test version)

So here they finally are – my group's rules for using Mantic's 'space-dwarfs', The Forge Fathers in Space Crusade. With impeccable timing I've managed to finally get it all together on the same week Mantic themselves are gearing up for the release of their own space-corridor game 'Project Pandora: Grim Cargo' (Which may have Space-Skaven in it!)

Anyway; Forge Fathers in Space Crusade ...

First up the Reference Sheet:

The Forge Fathers are an ancient and technologically advanced race. While they are far fewer in numbers than humans, the Forge Fathers are renowned across the galaxy for their grasp of advanced technology. Their battle-suits are nigh-on impregnable, the destructive capability of their thermal guns is of tremendous magnitude, not to mention the incredible rate of fire and penetrative power of their solid-shot weaponry. In the field of space warfare, they are unsurpassed. Their ships are much like they are: slow, massive, resilient to damage, and armed to the teeth.

Using a Forge Fathers Steel Warrior Squad in Space Crusade

Taking to the field in sophisticated suits of Aesir armour, Forge Fathers Squads carry the best weapons this technologically advanced race has at its disposal. Those who do not succumb to the deadly fire of their hailstorm rifles and unique and devastating heavy weapons, quickly succumb to the strength and bravery Steel Warriors exhibit in melee.

A Forge Father's Steel Warrior Team consists of:
1 Forge Father Commander
3 Steel Warriors with Hailstorm Rifles
1 Steel Warrior with Heavy Weapon

New Weapons

Hailstorm Rifles and Pistols have no special rules associated with them and should be treated much the same as Bolters

Heat Hammer: Heat Hammers are special melee weapons used by Forge Father Commanders amid the maelstrom of battle. The Heat Hammer uses all the same rules given for the Thunder Hammer in  White Dwarf 134

Dragon’s Breath Flame Thrower: The armour-melting Dragon’s Breath special weapon is best used in close-quarters fire fights. The Dragon’s Breath Flame Thrower follows all the same rules given for the Heavy Flamer in White Dwarf 134 with the following exceptions: The Dragon’s Breath Flame Thrower has a 2x2 area of effect, Rolls 1 Red Dice and 1 White Dice when firing and is a Special Weapon. You must choose the Special Weapon Equipment Card to be able to field The Dragon’s Breath Flame Thrower and it must be clearly marked which of your Steel Warriors is carrying The Dragon’s Breath Flame Thrower. A Special Weapon in not a Heavy Weapon, but may still be affected by the 'Out of Ammo' Alien Event Card.

Hailstorm Cannon: Hailstorm Cannons are highly advanced solid-shot weapons with an incredible rate of fire and penetrative power. The Hailstorm Cannon follows all the same rules given for the  Terminator Assault-Cannon detailed in White Dwarf 134.

Heat Cannon: Heat Cannons are heavy-duty thermal guns with a destructive capability of tremendous magnitude. The Heat Cannon uses all the same rules given for the Fusion Gun in Mission Dreadnought

Mjolnir Rocket Launcher: The brutal Mjolnir Rocket Launchers are devastating heavy weapons designed to disable enemy artillery and vehicles as well as targeting bunkers and other defensive structures. The Mjolnir Rocket Launcher uses all the same rules given for the Missile Launcher in the Space Crusade Rulebook

MortiS's House Rules: Please note that all the forge father weapons rules are designed to compatible with my optional weapon rules. The Hailstorm Cannon, Mjolnir Rocket Launcher and Dragon’s Breath Flame Thrower can all be used with the optional rules for The Assault-Cannon, Missile Launcher and Flamer Weapons if you choose to use them in your games.
