Major Gretchin

We had an interesting experience a few weeks ago where a single gretchin went on a killing spree and killed a number of marines before finishing off not one but two commanders. We marked the model with sone blu-tak and decided that he would receive a battlefield promotion to Major. Major Gretchin now rolls 2 white dice in hand to hand and 3 white dice when firing. Last game he managed to take out 3 or 4 blood angel in hand to hand combat who all had close assault blades and bolt pistols.

Do you guys have any house rules or rules you play just for fun?

If our game ends early we usually make up a secondary mission which inevitably sees the marines getting reinforced and we go at it again.

I think I've posted most of my group's Space Crusade house rules already, but one thing I've been considering doing, much in the vain of your 'Major Gretchin' is adding rules for boss versions existing monsters. For instance Ork Nobs.

At the moment we have a few Hormagaunts which we've given Tyranid Warrior heads, which we call 'Greater Crested Hormagaunts' there are no special rules for them at the moment though
