Let's turn this graveyard up to an 11!

I got them as an oddities buy from Rap Partha Europe's 23- Range, but now have finally gotten round to doing them up and painting them. I give you....... The Grateful Undead!!!

The Grateful Undead...

There are actually 4 members to this band and I didn't fully notice the forth until I was actually painting it (No. 4 is the drumkit).

All in all, they took a couplr of days to do and had great fun doing it. The strings for the guitars I actually did in Elf Flesh to give them a slight pinky, 'intestinal' impression and the 'skins' for the drums a took quite literally by using Elf Flesh, then Orgen Flesh, followed by Elf Flesh again, but mixed with a hint of Goblin Green and then Orgen Flesh again give them a real 'freshly rotting' feel.

Hope you like them and you may also even be seeing them turning up in a game at some point.

LMAO.
I'd be really intrigued to find out how you manage to incorporate them into a game! :D

I can think of several ways.

Place the Death Metal Band in some suitable place where lots of undead gather (Big Bad Guy's castle's dance hall for example) and when the Heroes arrive the band starts to play.

You could have them play music at various beats, thus causing the undead within range get different types of bonuses.

Fast and angry = Improved Move and To Hit for example

Slow and menacing = Reinforced capability to Cause Fear

And so on and so forth.

I like the idea there Scumdog, will have to mention it to Mortis. That would be a really interesting dynamic to add to a dungeon encounter.

most excellent stuff there dude!

The Grateful Undead's first gig will be at Altdolf Asylum where the imprisoned (and quite, quite mad) necromancer Gunthre Von Nekris will be celebrating his 100th birthday and assent to lichdom by turning the rest of the inmates into his undead slaves.

I like the idea of what the band is playing effecting the undead in the room, I think we'll have the band unleash undead-buffing spells each round! watch out for the effect of 'More Cowbell' !!

Looking awesome, you've picked up a lot of detail that was hard to see when they were just undercoated. I think we'll have to devise some scenario for them, I have just made a few skaven gong bearers and bell ringers (for my plague monks) so maybe some sort of battle of the bands????
