Well, here it is. I got the official approval of Ron Shirtz for the use of his excellent tavern tiles, and I need to somehow add the big Town and Sewers map in A4 pages in the right scale, which turns out to be harder than I thought :P

No you didn't miss anything - but rather I did! ... the original 'Into the Sewers' post is missing all of the background and flavour text I used when running the adventure (and a huge chunk of the special rules) Originally the Heroes were tasked with rescuing several Towns Folk who had gone missing in the night during an un-natural storm - including Rosanna the beautiful young wife of Farmer Bob Pitfalk, Bob was the only person in the town to see who the kidnappers were; talking rats with a size and posture of men - but of course no one in their right mind believes crazy old Bob and his talk of Rat-men ... no the Towns Folk are sensible people, they Know Rosanna Pitfalk is a witch and she summoned the storm and took the missing town people to back to the realm of chaos with her! - so it's down to the Heroes to not only rescue to Rosanna and the missing Towns Folk but to also prove that Skaven exist and Rosanna Pitfalk isn't a witch! The 'Rescue of Mr Groat the Tax Collector' plot is a great alternative story for the adventure and I like your twist on the adventure with the Talisman of Pore ect I'm working on writing up the full version of my original 'Into the Sewers', expect to see it soon BTW use the ["Quote] button (top left when you're posting a reply) to quote from a post

Hmmmm, so Mortis's quest was about people mysteriously having disappeared, and it's up to the heroes to find out where they went, and prove the existance of Skaven...
So that is like a first contact with Skaven in the HQ world, right? I like that idea, and I'd like to make a booklet of that quest as well, but it would be really cool if we could make a series of quests based on these maps in one questbook. I'm trying to think of a way to fit guzzi's quests and mine to that of Mortis... Perhaps after having rescues the farmer's daughter, and proving the existance of Skaven, the townspeople are greatful, and offer the heroes a stay at their Inn... Where they meet Mr. Groat, who gets kidnapped by angry Skaven, etc. Well, I'll just wait and see what Mort has come up with, and then (hopefully with the help of some people here) make the rest into a follow-up series of quests. And feel free to post quests that follow the three in my preliminary booklet ;) There's lots of fun to be had with these maps, I'm sure

Quest 2 – Group Quest
Into the Sewers “The Emperor’s Tax Collector, Mr. Groat, has been taken into the sewers by the Skaven. It is up to you to rescue him from their evil clutches!” Maybe I am being pedantic, but what happened to Mr Groat?

in my quest, Rosanna Pitfalk and 2 Towns Folk (the other Towns Folk have been fed to the Rag-Ogre or maybe suffered a worse fate at the hands of the Warlock's warpstone experiments!)

I'm not sure I understand? Do you mean what happened, as in, what did the Skaven do to him? He was simply taken captive, and held in his cell, and the heroes must rescue him.

I think perhaps you need to make that clear in the preamble, show on the GM map that he is actually in the cell, and when we played the Quest, I gave the Heroes, and Mr Groat, a way out through a secret door in the Ogres Lair. One could use the Chaos Sorcerer from HQ for Mr Groat, he usually fills in for odd jobs like that.

It doesn't have to be the Heroes's first encounter with Skaven, it's more about the average folk of the Empire being unaware of the horrors that lurk beneath their own streets and houses I think rather than trying to link all the quest that use the sewer map the booklet could just be a collection of different quests that use the map(s) and not all adventures in the sewers have to be centred around Skaven either ... I'll list some ideas later

I think you are right, Mortis. Let's face it, all the original HQ quests don't link together. Better an anthology of different ideas.

Okay, that sounds good. Great! Good idea. We'll just make a collection of quests then :) @guzzi: I actually did place a Mr. Groat icon on the GM map, and in the first quest (in the Tavern) it's made clear that Groat has been taken by the Skaven, and that you should go get him back. Which takes you to quest 2 (guzzi's first quest based on Mortis's) and then after you save him, you are told to get the Amulet (quest 3). See booklet (work in progress) I'm currently adding the maps in pieces that fit on regular paper, and awaiting more input to add to the booklet.

Nice work! Could you explain to me though, how this works: How often does this happen, and what do you mean by an "event"? Say, I roll 3. Is that an event? And does the D12 roll then mean which hero gets attacked by the wandering monster? And how would that work with traps? You roll a trap, and then a hero gets hit by that trap? Many questions :)

"How often does this happen, and what do you mean by an "event"?
Say, I roll 3. Is that an event? And does the D12 roll then mean which hero gets attacked by the wandering monster? And how would that work with traps? You roll a trap, and then a hero gets hit by that trap? " The GM roll takes place after all the Heroes have moved, and nothing would happen on the GM turn. This happens a lot in HQ, Heroes turns follow one after the other, with no WMs or traps or anything! An event is when a Hero rolls on the GM matrix and comes up with a WM or a trap. 1-2 is Nothing and means just that, one goes to another Heroes turn. For your example, if the Heroes roll a 3, this is a WM., they then roll D12 to see which Hero is affected. If it's a trap, normal HQ rules. In normal circumstances, when we play HQ, and a trap comes up, I let the Heroes roll D12. If they get 6 or more, they spot the trap, no effect. Below 6, the trap goes off, and the Hero suffers the concequences. This is one of my House Rules!

Okay, I see. So if you roll a trap, than one of the heroes will always get hit by it? I think I'll modify that house rule in my quests, seems too unfair if you can't really avoid it by searching for traps. Some extra WM's sound fine, that I might use. I'll add your quest as number four in the booklet ;) I've also added all the map parts in the book, so I'll be posting it soon!

Please read my note again, if the hero rolls 6 or more on D12, he spots the trap and is not affected.

I cannot download these two, what program do I need?
Be sure your sins will find you out.

You need WinRAR, which is basically a more advanced version of winZip, plus you can split archives in multiple parts, which I needed to do because of the size. Follow the link, and click the Download Now text. Download and install WinRAR, doubleclick the downloaded file part 1, choose "extract to" and it will extract the PDF file to your specified location.
