Here's 1 more Fae-Stone, I finished this a little while back but only got round to photographing it recently.
The appearance of this stone was inspired by the holed standing stones that appear in some of the woodland areas in Fable 2, but the drawing of the similar looking standing stone is from a piece of concept art by Wayne Reynolds. Other stones like it appear in lots of games and pieces of artwork - there are even a few real-world examples of this sort of thing too.
It was made using much the same techniques as my
previous Fae-Stones, but using a chunk of rough wood that I drilled/carved a hole through as the basis.
So far as painting goes, again this stone is pretty much exactly the same as it's predecessors, save for the fact that in an attempt to make this stone appear a little more magical I painted some metallic blue into the carvings.
I have no idea what to include as bonus pictures this time, so here's a long blank space and a swear-word.
Fuck.
