Gelatinous Cube

My Gelatinous Cube is made from a GW dice cube (which I discovered fits perfectly down the corridors of my dungeon) with the hinge removed and the holes filled in using Milliput.
It was painted in various greens, the dappled effect was achieved by applying the last 2 or 3 layers using a piece of foam from a blister pack and a couple of coats of Green Glaze and gloss varnish finished it off for a wet slimy look.

It may not look as nice as the transparent resin and plastics ones available, but for me personally it wins over them in 3 important respects; 1, It actually fits in my dungeon corridors (I'd have no real way of knowing a resin one will until it arrives at my door and by then it's too late if it doesn’t) 2, the upside of it being made from a box is that it's hollow and I can place an engulfed figure inside and 3, it was rather cheap

I do still like the idea of having a transparent cube though, so I might at some point make a mould of this cube and ask someone with access to transparent resin to cast it up for me (I see little point in investing in a whole bottle (or 2) of transparent resin for just one model)

I would have liked to add a bit more detail to the cube, but it's sadly a matter of practicality - it needs to be able to be pushed along narrow dungeon corridors without catching on anything and getting damaged. Having said that though I might be able to get away with a few blobs of varnish

Great fun for me the GM - not so much for the players
