Maybe I can not be too objective about koW, for several reasons: free rules highly customizable for other types of wargames, the miniatures of the mantic are beautiful and cheap, the game designer is Italian and to test this game I finally put my old Lizardmen and Bretonnians back on their feet.
The game is fast, funny and very flow, the "time component" does really improve the gameplay!
Maybe at the first time it seems quite "strange", there are no wounds, the game isn't oriented on the single miniature but on the entire unit, the spells are managed like a skill (and practically you can only wound and heal) and a series of very lucky Nerve rolls (6+5 on 2d6) can virtually defeat everyone.
Although... In my opinion this game system is more effective with 15mm miniatures.
As usual, I feel compelled to post some pictures (to be precise in my hobby cellar while I am happily massacred by a friend of mine)
