Dungeon Siege - the appreciation of mules

Billiam Babble
Started playing Dungeon Siege (1) again (original scenario, I think, but via the Legends of Arranna expansion)

I love the mule.

Especially the way the pack gets higher and higher!

Dungeon Siege is a big favourite of mine, although I always seem to get my mule killed. The Legends of Aranna had a Coldone type pack-animal which despite being really cheesy could at least fight back. I think my favourite bit of the original dungeon siege was the dungeon full of goblin engineers and their steam-punk contraptions. Gob-bots and Scorcher Tanks – Awesome!

Anyways your tribute to the mule reminded me this has been sitting on my desk waiting for me to add a few finishing touches and fill the gaps with Green Stuff … oh and paint it!

Pack Horse

Admittedly this is more Bill the Pony inspired than classic Dungeon Siege, but I can’t wait to have this accompany a party of adventurers carrying their excess luggage.

For those of you wondering the bags are from a 1/35 scale accessory pack, plus a few extra’s from citadel plastics and the ‘Pony’ is in-fact a 25mm horse I got off Mutt in a bitz box trade

He looks wonderful.  Proper packs, too!

Dungeon Siege is surprisingly steampunk in places.  DS2 had many more pack animals - one was a scorpion, but it didn't have the charm of the defenceless, but tasty, mules.

I had a really old mule/donkey figure (lead base) which someone gave me or sold me with a riding dwarf which didn't fit, so now I'm wondering if it was a horse from a smaller scale range.  It's deep in a box somewhere. I attached some sacks to it - moulded green stuff - not a patch on the above but I think it would just about pass as a mule with sacks of gold.  I'll post a pic if I ever find it again. :)
