Could this be why GW charges so much?

Talsin
Today a very special package arrived through my letter box.

It was my copy of codex Dark Eldar. (YAY).

However, i was a little concerned when I saw the size of what had arrived.

Now gentle readers, to send out a simple 96 page A4 ish boook what would you use?

An envelope? A jiffy bag?

GW used a box.

Yes thats right, a box.

And inside said box........

The codex, dispatch note and an air filled packing bag.

Thats right, well over half of the box is air. Now the post office will charge by size and weight, so GW have paid the Royal Mail quite a bit to transport air. and especially with their oders over £10 pay no postage this has to be paid for somehow.

Therefore when you are charged £20 for 10 plastic men think about this, you just paid for gw to send me some air from their warehouse to my flat.

Thanks guys

Yeah GW really need to sort out their packing, they always send stuff out in massive boxes.

They could have at least filled the bag with helium to make the box lighter

oh dear god!

I haven't ordered anything from GW mail order in a long time, free postage on £10 or above seems like a stupid move for them business wise ...

... You have 2 minuets to name 10 GW products that cost less than £10 ...

... Times up!
did you manage it? .... didn't think so

even when GW prices were more reasonable I don't think I've ever made an order that cost less than £10

I don't think this is were all the money is going, but it must be costing them quite a bit

i can top it.. when i used to run Bath Store, Joe one of my regulars ordered a single halfling... came in the biggest box GW did (the size of the £100+ army boxes) :D

i think of all the money GW makes, packaging is the least costly ;)
