Chain Fist Rules for Space Crusade

Conorius
This post was updated on .
Terminators are availble for StarQuest / Space Crusade.
A Chain Fist is missed also i wanna play with them.

A Chain Fist is a Power Glow with an integrated Chains Sword.

In the video game expantion Voyage Beyond was the Chain Sword:
DICE: 1 red + 1 white
RULE: If you attack diagonally with the Chain Sword must the opponent throw a dice less!

I ask YOU guys: "Should the opposing player throw a dice less with the Chain Fist?"
Yes or No ?

This is a card from a deck of equipment/treasure cards for space crusade (ala heroquest). It has a Power Glove upgrade (Chain Fist)

I hadn't thought of the diagonal attack for this weapon, but I'm guessing a reroll for your commander is much the same.
This card makes the commander extremely hard to kill in hand to hand (especially if you are Blood angels or ultra marine with a reroll already). but the chances of picking up this equipment/treasure card from the deck is slim.

Re: Chain Fist for Space Crusade Proll.

i read all weapon rules and text from every 40k Edition and weapons book and even speace hulk

in one description we can read is posibole for a Commander to have a Chain Fist or a special Troop
but only as Terminator is the weapon in fullpower and deadly

but in same way is said the chain fist is hard to move.

the Weapon have Stregth 10 this made 2Red & 2 Wehite dice
but all space crusade Hand to hand weapon have -3

also made it : Stregth 7  1 Red & 2 White
also i give a Bonus why this weapon is so strong and calulate only -2
Strength 8 = 2 Red and 1 White

SLATER_LT had a java programm for calculation Space Ctusade dice probabilities
And this show is better to use 2Red and 1 White Dice

i thinking to give the diagonal attack with -1 dice like the Chain sword
or +1 Dice when he get attacked diagonaly

As Commander weapon or for Troops without Tactical Dreadnought Amour i would made it not so strong.
As an Equipment card is a good idea!

actioncom his Reference card is near finish only the Chain Fist we are not sure.
I play today 3 Test game for this but dont know
Actioncom and i ask around what other think but you are the 1st who respond.

Hi Conorius,

Remember that chain fist is bulky and difficult to maneuver, that's why I used to implement this rule:
during combat a Terminator can use effectively the power fist (1R+1w), not the chain fist, BUT against Dreadnoughts or Bulkhead doors he's able to fully concentrate the chain weapon, rolling 2R+1w.
No diagonal attack or other special rules for me.

I also used to give the Equipment card "Chain fist" to all the Termies with stormbolter+powerfist, but, for the Blood Angels squad ALL the Termies with a powerfist (so even those armed with assault cannon or heavy flamer) can be upgraded with the chain fist.

I also tested it in a lot of missions.

Hope this can be useful to you.

That's pretty much exactly the rules my group use for chain fists once we'd finished play-testing our Terminator Equipment cards. In our cases it's a card that lets you swap out the power fist on one of your terminators for a chain-fist although I do like the idea of it being an upgrade for all your basic terminators if you're using Blood Angels

I think it's also worth noting here that until quite recently a chain-fist was not a power-fist with a chainsaw-blade nailed to it, but an entirely different chainsaw attachment that fitted over the terminator's arm in place of the power-fist (check out 1st and 2nd edition Space Hulk and 40k from the same period) To be more authentic with the original Space Crusade terminator rules in WD134 we based our rules on that and used the artwork from the same period (not least because the artwork in matches that in WD134) but we came out with the same rules in the end, although we justified them slightly differently

^ the original chain-fist from the samw set of artwork used in WD134

^ From the Deathwing Rules & Missions book page 10

^ Deathwing Terminators; one with a Chain-Fist, the other with a Power-Fist (as seen in Space Hulk 2nd edition)

Yes, I know that the concept of Chain fist has changed from the early versions of the rules to the late ones.
I'm referring only to the late terminator models you can easily buy.
