Beardy Bastards, Dwarfed in Space

I was a bit worried when the Nabble service first started putting adverts on the forum, but I've got to say that in recent months they have at least become more relevant and thanks to one of them, this morning I discovered a rather good webcomic - Beardy Bastards, Dwarfed in Space

The comic is well drawn and is about Space Dwarfs which closely resemble Rogue Trader era Squats, the whole comic has a nice early 40k feel to it without over doing it. In the first 'chapter' the Dwarfs are being attacked by a race of bug-aliens who resemble a mixture of the Starship Troopers Bugs, current 40k Tyranids, the Koralon from Urban Mammoth/Void and Kyromek Aliens.

I'd like to wish the creators the best of luck and I hope they get lots of readers and Beardy Bastards is around for a long time … because well … my previous 2 favourite wargaming related webcomics 'Miss Fire' and 'Secret Life of Mobs' both disappeared before they hit their prime – 'Miss Fire' wrote itself to a end (rumour has it GW sent them a C&D notice) and 'Secret Life of Mobs' got hacked in 2009 and never recovered  - I hope a similar fate doesn’t befall Beardy Bastards as it's shaping up to be pretty awesome

Re: Beardy Bastards, Dwarfed in Space

in a way I hope GW don't bring back Squats - 1; because judging by recent 40k releases they will ruin them and 2; I really hope they don't bring them back as part of the Tau army because they are a race and civilisation in their own right and I'm sick of the way people want the 'Tau empire' to be some kind of dumping ground for all the less numerous races. Besides background-wise Squats are fiercely independent and extremely unlikely to agree to be integrated into another race's empire to work for the greater weeaboo

Going back into the history of squats, from 2ed. Squats were former humans that lived on heavy graverty planets. Mining colonys. When the imperium started to get there act together the graverty changes were perminant. Because they are technically still human their differences are tollerated.
