Not sure if this will be of any use but has anybody played the old RTS game: Alien vs Predator - Extinction?
Years ago i had the same kind of idea and this game gave me a mountain of ideas that could carry over into a tabletop wargame.
Still can't believe there is not a full line of miniatures available for the AVP Universe yet!

People always say: AVP does not have enough troop types etc. BULLDUST!
Play Alien vs Predator: Extinction for a few months and read all the weapons data files in the game!

Could be a massive game if it was given a chance.

I actually bought Lumberjacks copy off of him a few years back, now ;)

So we've both played, and I actually wrote a large army list based around the Predator side of it [with additions taken from Predator - Concrete Jungle]

Yeah Concrete Jungle was another source of gameplay ideas certainly.
If only the game let you slaughter Aliens in the city streets earlier in the story!

In Extinction i remember making my own basic rules for some of the non-playable units too:

Scientist
Executive
Ancient Predator
Predator Anti-Air Cloakers

What the game had in terms of playable units would still be awesome on a tabletop game though.
Even an AVP version of Space Hulk or Space Crusade would make my day.

I remember I had the rulebook dissallowing certain heavier units unless there was a high enough points limit, to represent how the Yautja only use them when going to war.

I actually just remembered that I had rules for the Ancient and a spiffing model to go with it!

I used to make them out of a mix of Kroot, Catachan and Tau parts..
The Ancient was a 0-1 HQ selection that destroyed most anything it came near..

*sigh* I'm gonna go pull up the old codex I wrote I think..

And having found myself once dragged into Space Crusade without knowing the rules, I can attest to how *simple* it is.

Now I want to get models done to force Mort to make a HUGE labyrinth out of all of his 'crusade board pieces! :D

these rules are for Space Hulk rather Space Crusade - but both are just as easy to learn and play
