AFS MK1

This is one of my latest builds, its one of the maschinen krieger series by Kow Yokoyama and is part of a series that has been going on and off for about 20 years.
This is an AFS mk1 (armoured fighting suit), its used by mercenary forces against the oposition (Shutoral democratisch republik).
I  chose to paint it up in a desert scheme then thought I might add some white to the cammo, its rather understated.
The Idea is that its from fighting in the Gobi desert in China in winter.
I decided to give it a winter base with snow, made from a mix of baking powder mixed with PVA.
I added winter plants from sprigs of lichen.

Re: AFS MK1

Very realistic paint job, like the weathering in particular.

What scale's this? I'm guessing probably 1/6?

Cheers Rob,
Its actually 1/20, there are some 1/6th kits available, but they're a horrendous price, the last I saw was £300.

The truth is, I've got a much better camera with a superb super macro, in the past couple of months.
My photos should be a lot better from now on.

excellent! I think I saw this on your FB profile.

the weathering gives it a very real and gritty feeling and the frozen tundra base looks great
